Dangers to the hatchlings on the beach

The amazing sea reptile which has seen ages and survived about hundred million years in this universe is under the danger of becoming extinct. And in order to protect sea turtles many precautions have been made.
The male and female turtles live in the marine and only the female will come to the sand in the beach when she is ready to lay the eggs. Now a female sea turtle is capable to lay more than one hundred eggs during a particular nestling season which is awesome, but only few of these little ones can hatch and reach the home to the sea. This tragedy is because of the dangers they face during the period of hatching.  Because of the development in the tourist industry every beaches have seen ample amount of changes like crabs, birds, drifting the footprints, new buildings filled with flashy lights, like these there are so many factors affecting it.
An adult sea turtle really finds it very difficult these days to dig a nest to lay eggs, and after she lies she leaves them to hatch and moves back to sea. At this period of time humans hunt these eggs to consume or to sell in restaurants as delicious egg food, and sure it is the favorite for many tourists.  This is the main reason for this special sea reptiles becoming extinct. At times even some birds, huge crabs, of even animals like fox and dogs may eat and destroy them.
And at last when those poor little turtles hatch from the eggs and try to come to its home they face the next danger. Now these turtle hatch-lings each have a sense to move towards the direction where it is brighter and filled with light. And since they hatch usually in the nights the brighter side will be towards the sea and so the sea turtles easily finds their way into the ocean home.
But there arise a danger at this point of time through the artificial lights from the buildings in the beach houses which are much brighter and so the turtle hatch-lings get astray and go towards the artificial lights. They might also get distracted by the dazzling lights of the cars, or campfires and thus go away from the sea. This process of moving in the opposite direction to the sea is known as disorientation. And disorientation may lead to death of the little ones.
Trading of rare species of sea turtles has been banned. And a number of nestling beaches have been protected these days and even the young turtles are reared, thus help and lead them into the sea.

Dangers in the sea for the adult Sea Turtles

Sea Turtle is a unique, gentle, amazing sea creature which is also a reptile and is considered as a jewel to the huge ocean. But this ancient sea reptile is in the danger of becoming extinct. In the land Sea Turtles are hunted by humans for its meat, oil and leather and so they need to be cared and protected. Now an adult sea turtles live up to the age of forty years old. And even during their life time they have to face so many dangers and have to overcome them to survive.
The first real danger for the sea turtles comes from the sea itself. When the huge ocean gets polluted it creates a great problem to the sea turtles because when they live in this contaminated sea water their health is also affected. And when the sea turtles try to survive in this polluted water they are affected by much kind of different diseases which kills the animal brutally. Because of the pollution in the ocean it also contaminates the aquatic plants and thus creating a danger to the food in which the sea turtles survive and also to all the sea living creatures.
Now what makes the ocean polluted? There are so many factors that make the sea polluted like the metals which are toxic may be mixed in the sea which can affect the eyes, kidneys and lungs of the sea turtles, spilling of petroleum products and agricultural products too. And in this the major factor that contributes for the pollution is the oil spill.  When the oil is spilled from the factories or urban machineries in to the ocean many hazardous chemicals are also being mixed in to the ocean which is dangerous for the turtles.
Fertilizers from the farm runoff into the ocean also pollute the sea and the chemicals from them mix with the water and pollutes it.. Eutrophication is another important factor in oceanic pollution. Another big danger is the disease known as Fibropapilloma which creates tumours in the shape of cauliflower on the parts of the sea turtles first in the external parts which later also spreads to the organs inside affecting them and thus killing the turtle.
Plastic is also another form of danger to the sea turtles. Any form of plastics from bags, bottles balloons, etc when they are thrown into the ocean since they are biodegradable and when the sea turtles try to eat them cause great hazard to health.

Many methods of solutions are being reviewed and discussed to avoid the marine pollution and to protect these creatures from marine pollution. Mainly people should be educated on the fact about the dangers of spilling oil and fertilizers chemicals into the oceans, to buy organically prepare food, and in many more ways to save the ocean. And so let each one of us understand the importance of the riches of the ocean and help to protect its treasure the Sea Turtles!
